Located just 5 km north of Nuweiba, Um Um Raicher reef is a boon for novice divers. The shallow reef is easily accessible from shore and easy to dive. It is incredibly rich in marine life. Before reaching the reef, you swim over an area of sea grass and rocky outcrops, then encounter a reef at the end of the path. The two reef walls are punctuated by crevices and vents where you will most likely encounter interesting inhabitants such as octopuses, squid and other reef fish species. Pelagic fish, such as barracuda, can also be spotted on the walls where they feed on smaller species.
