The Museum of Islamic Art is the largest museum of Islamic art in the world, showcasing the rich Islamic history of Egypt and the world. It displays an extensive collection of ancient Islamic artefacts from various regions and countries, including India, China, Iran, Egypt, North Africa and Andalusia. The concept of the museum was developed in 1880 and launched in 1903 during the reign of Khedive Abbas Hilmi II. The building was designed in neo-Mamluk style and is adjacent to the Egyptian National Library and Archives, “Dar el-Kotob”
