The well-preserved Ptolemaic Temple of Horus is the second largest temple in Egypt. After the temple of Karnak, it is the second largest temple in Egypt. The temple was one of the last attempts of the Ptolemaic dynasty to build in the style and splendor of their predecessors. Construction of the complex took about 200 years. Well-preserved hieroglyphs provide information about the practices of the cult of Horus and the temples associated with it. It is believed that the temple was built on the site of the great Horus-Seth battle.
