Diving in Ras Mohammed - Tourism

12 December 2022

Egypt’s first protected area is a world famous area with several top dive sites. The Ras Mohammed area is a cape formed by ancient corals; you can see them surfacing on the sea surface. Due to the currents coming from the Gulf of Aqaba, the underwater life in this area is simply extraordinary and many fish come here from the open sea in search of food and shelter: you will see an unprecedented abundance of hard and soft corals, as well as large schools of tuna, barracuda, stingrays and even sharks, and the Shark and Yolanda reefs, to name a few, are ‘the’ dive in the Red Sea. Strong currents that attract a variety of fish make this one of the best places for underwater photography.
