The Red Pyramid of Dahshur is located not far from Saqqara and was built for Pharaoh Snefru, the father of Cheops for whom the Great Pyramid of Giza was built. The Red Pyramid is the first “real” pyramid and has the second largest base of all Egyptian pyramids. What makes it even more interesting is the fact that it is fully walkable and you have the opportunity to see the burial chamber. There is something special about exploring the cold and silent corridors inside the pyramid. Do not go inside if you are not comfortable in an enclosed space.
